When it comes to people search, nothing could be more elusive than Russian prison inmate search. We have had quite a few emails about getting more data and we were able to get in contact with a resident of Russia who did some searching for us. The task was tedious, not to mention the language barrier!

One of the things we found with the Russian prison system is their enhanced use of technology for their inmates. You can actually send an email to a Russian inmate! The email is then printed, checked by prison staff for possible security issues and once accepted is then delivered to the inmate like normal mail. Kudos to the Russian prison staff for helping keep family in contact by any means.
Russian prisons are alarmingly very tough. One prison that’s tougher than any other prison in Russia is the Black Dolphin prison. It’s on the Kazakhstan border and houses the most dangerous convicts. It’s a high security prison home to serial killers, terrorists and even cannibals.
